Petaling Jaya, 6th March 2010. Continental Sime Tyre Sdn. Bhd. (CST) officially launched two models of its Sime Tyres 4x4 tyre range at Genting International Convention Centre in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

The two said models are the Centipede AT and Centipede HT for the All Terrain and Highway segment respectively, and are available in all CST’s network dealers. The tyres, engineered in Germany, are produced in the Alor Star plant in Malaysia.

The range complements the Continental & Dunlop 4x4 tyres that were introduced in the last 2 years, demonstrates “Continental Sime Tyre’s commitment to our business partners, and with your continued support, commitment and teamwork, this will allow us to face the market challenges together,” said Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Benoit Henry.

The Centipede AT is developed for all drivers who intend to use their 4WD vehicles off-road but still want a comfortable margin of safety in road traffic. Regardless of the road condition, be it tarmac, mud, sand or stone, nothing stops the Centipede AT. Its twin-stage groove design increases traction on edges and prevents stones from being wedged in its tread, allowing it to disperse gravel with ease.

On the other hand, the Centipede HT with its triple centre rib design and noise cancellation technology used for optimized pattern design will ensure high safety on dry and wet road conditions while enhancing the driving comfort with minimum noise.

The gala evening, with Chinese New Year theme as well, was filled with food, fun and entertainment. The highlight of the evening was the lucky draw where the grand prize was drawn to dealer Auto Wheel Sabah Sdn. Bhd. who walked away with an Isuzu D-Max. As luck would have it, majority of the prizes also went to the dealers from Sabah.
